I managed to get into a few fights at school, well quite a lot actually. I've never been one for pulling hair or slapping people, even as a kid I just punched people in the face. A few of the girls I fought would flap their arms and windmill wildly, but a few knew how to punch which made for more interesting fights.

glad u saw it Brez. reminds me of Russian girl fights in groups. I have seen cheer teams fight but they just met close tot he school where then game, was paired, off and fought 1 vs 1. neither group fights I have seen did restart again though.

When I was at school our girls fought with girls from another school in a park

We had a big big rivalry with another hockey playing school in the town... Players didn't get into fights but there rarely wasn't a score to be settled between two girls and when the schools met was the perfect time to do it! Their school was mixed and ours wasn't so it was usually over a girl in mixed school coming on to one of our girls boys!

Coming home early from work yesterday (kick starting the weekend early don't u know!! ) I saw two girls "trying to fight" Have girls got weaker from when we were in school!? What do you think girls?

I didn't hang around yesterday but they were just flapping at each other whereas when I was in school it was hell for leather!! Maybe I'm just living close to the posher of the schools in town!!

Saw the mother of all fights yesterday... A girl from the convent school and a girl from the mixed school. It must have been pre arranged... Parked my car when I spotted a large group of 'convent' girls marching over towards a group from the other school then the two literally sprinted straight at each other and started knocking lumps out of each other!! Had a limited view but it was a v vicious scrap that must have lasted about 15mins, restarting about 4 times. Couldn't pick a winner!! One of my mates tells me there was another scrap between 2 girls on the Main Street last night too, not sure if related or not. When it rains it pours!!!!

Damn! It get bloody from what you could tell? Sounds like it was epic! I'm half surprised it didn't end up in a full on brawl between both groups of girls.......could you imagine if that had happened?

Couldn't tell but they were tearing shreds out of each other!! Would love to know what caused the fight because by god did they want to hurt each other!! I actually couldn't believe what was unfolding before my eyes!!

And those fights were nothing compared to when a girl from a catholic school fought a girl from a Protestant school!!! Don't think ANYTHING could match that!!!

Had a few tough fights back then, a couple of older girls were members of a rival boxing gym so there was some tension there and I wasn't above stoking the tension if it meant a decent fight.

And those fights were nothing compared to when a girl from a catholic school fought a girl from a Protestant school!!! Don't think ANYTHING could match that!!!

I went to a Protestant school and fought girls from Catholic schools and the fights weren't any different from any other fight. Religion may cause a fair amount of fights, but it doesn't actually improve your ability to do so or increase your punch resistance.

rival gym you say? that create other fights between different members much besides your own?

When I say "rival gym" I mean a gym other than the one I went to, we didn't actually go around in a gym gang or anything. Knowing they boxed at another gym made me want to fight them but mostly because I knew they'd be able to give me a proper fight, quite a few other people obviously thought the same as they were always trying to fan the flames.

You didn't go to school in Belfast though!! It's the reason behind most fights!

I can only imagine!!! I'd say you were constantly at each other's throats esp around marching season.. Who had the sexier uniform!? - the catholic school or the Protestant school!? I'd say the Protestant one was a bit shorter and tighter!! lol

Yea the prods were bet into their uniforms the sluts!! They were your typical blazer, blouse, tie and straight skirt. Ours was a sweater/cardigan with blouse pleated skirt and socks/tights. We ALWAYS hurled abuse at each other which often led to fights. Daughters of feuding families also often fought! Belfast is a place where what religion you are determines so much!! I wouldn't change it for the world though!
