It was an MMA fight from earlier this year this being the weigh in for it, the girls are Felice Herrig (blonde) and Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc (brunette). You can find the fight on youtube if you felt so inclined.

you never know how long or good a fight,MMA,catfight, will b in advance. of course we,males,hope the fight lasts a long time.

The stare down is primarily for others. It lets each woman pretend she is the "lady" and that it is the other one who is crude and wants to fight. Also, it shows others who are watching that she is unafraid of the other woman. The secondary purpose is to intimidate the opponent. If either backs down during the stare down, she in effect has lost the fight. The stare down continues until others pull them away, until one backs down, or until a fight begins.

You seem to be on to something, it seems the longer the stare down. The better the catfight is.

I have seen stare downs where one of the women turned and walked away. That is a real heart breaker for sure.
