Stare downs between male boxers before a big fight can very intense, but the tension there comes from the crowd, and the knowledge that this a BIG fight, with people all over world watching and waiting to see what's going to happen. Otherwise, if you get two guys going eyeball to eyeball before a fight, the reaction of most people is going to be - "Come on fellas, stop messing about and get on with it!".
Put two girls in the same situation though, and you have drama and tension the instant their eyes meet.

to fightfanatic..Yes, I did win the fight, but it was quite the battle.  I won 2-1 (best of 3 submission). We are friends, but I feel both of us act a bit different around each other now. In fact we were at a party New Year's Eve and as my husband and I were ready to leave,she made the statement to me that "we have to have our re-match."  Knowing her, I was wondering if and when she was going to ask me to do it again.  Like me, she is quite competitive, and I felt that she would want another shot at me. I replied "Of course. We can do it again."  I left it at that for now.

You said it was "an arranged rules cf with your husbands present".  Whose idea was it?  What led up to it?  What were the rules?  Did both of you always observe the rules?  If not, who cheated and how?

It has many functions: compare the opponent's body, intimidating her, studying her...
Infact it's a sort of ''ritual'' that take places before a match.

Yes the stare downs are are almost as good as the fight itself! Rusha used to be great about putting several stare down photos in his picture sets
