Pittsburgh Boxing - First Match Has Taken Place

Hello everyone! Glad to announce that the first boxing match has taken place for the new group!  I know most companies don't boast about that, but with all the drama I had in trying to find fighters to throw down I consider it a milestone. LOL  The fight occurred yesterday afternoon. Both fighters are 18 years of age, both petite girls, standing at 5'1 and weigh in approx 110-115 lbs.  Was unlimited rounds to an ending, normal boxing rules, 2 minute rounds, 1 minute rests in beween rounds, 8 oz gloves, no headgear. Attire was normal gym attire for both. The fighters were Missy and Nikki.

When the first bell rang to start the fight both came out swinging, wanting to end the fight early. Both were landing hard shots to the face and body, back and forth action. If there were judges, the first 2 rounds would have been a bitch to score, that's how close they were. 3rd round Nikki took the upperhand early landing shots at will on Missy, but Missy came back second half of the round and scored shots of her own. Had thoughts of giving a standing-eight count but Missy still had fight in her. Edge to Nikki at this point. 4th round Nikki again landing at will. Would have given a standing-eight count but Missy, standing against the wall in distress, waved it herself stating, "I can't anymore."  Winner by TKO at 1:29 of the 4th round..... Nikki.

Both fighters had a great time and said that they'd definitely box again.  A great way to start the group!!!

Thank you guys, both of you. Indeed... it was an awesome start to the group.  Both women came out fightin, hungry to win, and didn't hold back.  They truly are warriors. The one contacted me today saying that she is hungry to box again. She wants another fight! :-)

Good to hear my friend. I know how long and hard you worked on just getting this far so I am glad to see some fruit come from your efforts. And that the first fight wasn't one where Mike Tyson would go "Man that was a short fight"
