Babylonian Goddess Catfight Or Myths Can Be Sexy!

I was reading up on ancient mythology and came across a gem of a scene that'd make for an amazing catfight. (Ahem, if any vendor wants to film this my consulting fee can be discussed. ;-) )

But seriously...

In Babylonian mythology, Ishtar was the goddess of love, war and sex. She's a predecessor to Venus (not Delight) and winds up having to descend to the Underworld.

Now the Underworld is ruled by another goddess who just so happens to be Ishtar's sister: Ereshkigal.

I think I see where this is going...

Ereshkigal permits Ishtar to enter through the gates of the underworld but according to the 'ancient decree'.

And what might that be? As she passes through each gate, Ishtar has to shed one piece of clothing. I like that. :-)

By the time she's through the seventh gate, Ishtar is buck naked, furious and sets her eyes on her sister, Ereshkigal who must have enjoyed the humiliation.

Now the Wikipedia article offers this tease:

"In rage, Ishtar throws herself at Ereshkigal" and that's it for the fight.

but clearly we catfight fans can imagine much more than that.
