Help with my pc and downloads

I don't know if I'm in the right place for this but here goes. Recently my computer has completely stopped being able to download (primarily videos and music) files. It takes about 10 mintues to download a song now and you can completely forget downloading  any videos. I've tried a factory  reboot, re loading programs and all types of virus scans and nothing. I can't play HD streaming videos  either now. Regular web surfing is fine just problems downloading. Please help!

try that and make sure that your internet connection isn't the problem

I'm having a hard time downloading these Fightsuite video clips because my router is taking a long time to download or it might be an internet connection problem? Need some advice on what to do?

Thanks again for the help guys. I'll try my Internet provider. I've done everything I can from my end I may just use this as an excuse  to finally  go buy a new PC. I'll update if I solve the problem before taking that step who knows it may help another with the same problem down the line.

It was a router problem for me; talking to my cable provider found out that my modem has a built-in router which I didn't know about.

Fixed the problem. Apparently it was an issue  with my Internet service provider.Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
