I can imagine the ladies of the chorus in the dressing room pretending to spar in howls of laughter. Then the competitive nature tales over,  the hits getting progressively harder, each girl wanting to better her opponent.

Must add, everything I've heard about Ms Grable's having fabulous legs would appear to be true.

A GLORIOUS scenario to vividly imagine!!

A little left field of the original theme but if you look at the dancers in any show, if they have a long run, whether in one theatre or maybe touring, you have ladies who work firstly because of their talent and also their looks and shapes come into it. Put a group of egos into a cramped dressing room what start as little annoyances become issues over time.  What is said behind someone back will soon be told face to face. There were films taken in strippers dressing rooms.  Fights seemed to be frequent and the other strippers who weren't involved were delighted to watch.   These theatre dancers/chorus girls may not disrobe for the audience, but they change and undress in front of each other.  Jealousy and insults might make for a frosty atmosphere between certain ladies and any face off would be met with all the encouragement needed from other girls for them to go at woman to woman.
