I also am having difficulty sending and receiving private messages.  My outbox will not retain any of the message I sent.  I have not received any messages at all when I know others are sending some.  Also, I keep receiving, in my outbox, notices that members have left comments in my profile.  When I check my profile, nothing is there.

I have tried to send through a picture, but a message appears to say that the file is too big, even though it is only 34kb. How do I post a picture.

Is there any way to add a legit spam filter to keep the idiotic "topics" from being posted?  It's not even worth fighting through the crap on the stories board to see if there's anything legit to read.

Edit:  How about someone waking up and actually deleting the threads that are clearly spam?  It can't be that difficult or even take that much time.

Edit 2:  Nope.  Apparently paying attention and cleaning up the spam is below the admins/moderators.  Pitiful what's being done to these boards without any attempt to stop it.

Edit 3:  Does the forum admin even know the site is still here?  This is pathetic.  Do your freaking easy job and get rid of the spammers.

overall, very good I would say. the easiest to reach chat like this in cyberspace! BUT: ideas for improvement: get the room user list to arrange in Alphabetical order according to chat name, find a way to not have new log-in users have to wait 4 minutes until their names appear (maybe a second user room for generla chat/fight as opposed to "Arena" room. Those would be my main suggestions, an I think are shared by others.

We do delete spam threads, but some stuff still gets through.

Every SMF forum is currently having this problem, as it is being targeted by a robot spam attack. We have tried adding more human checks on account creation, but it isn't working very well.

Also, let me clarify that this isn't anybody's "job" as this is a site that is provided free of charge, even though it costs several hundred dollars a month to run (chat bandwidth is high). We are doing the best we can with volunteers who are all doing a good job.

Once SMF 2.0 gets out of beta, we will upgrade and this will stop the robot spam. We will also continue to look at ways to filter traffic better.

Hi Debbie. I'm curious about the reason why my previous account with the same name got deleted...
I've been a member for more than a year, I didn't post spam, didn't annoy people. So why my acc got deleted without any notice?

I think you're doing wonderfully. It is great to have all the stories (there is a writer from the UK who does amazing catfight stories here!), as well as a place for artists to show their work. You've done a great job. I don't know of any place on the web that includes nearly as much as you do.
I often go to the chat room. As I'm sure others have informed you, it's a bit unstable when things get crowded. Please don't take that as a criticism! I'm sure that "fixing" that problem would mean greater costs, and I'm not about to urge you to drain your coffers on my behalf. I'm just glad to have such a multi-featured place where I can indulge my little catfight urges. Thanks again.
