The organisers of the UFC and MMA have certainly caught on to the broad appeal of the staredown, it's a major part of the lead up to fights. They now often have the two combatants staredown a number of times in the days before a major fight. Often the announcement of such fights is accompanied by the two fighters angrily glaring at each other as they stand nose to nose. I think its only a matter of time before a brawl breaks out during a weigh in, already they often press noses together and even butt heads.
Have loved fighting and just about any form of contest since I was a kid.

Not just the stare downs, but is anyone else excited  when girls turn to their freinds and hand over jewellery, phones etc and then the ultimate ofaccetance that they are about to fight is when they tie their hair up.
