catfights for a job or promotion

After reading a recent post about a catfight between Lisa and Jenny over a job, an old fantasy of mine was rekindled. For years I was in a position to hire and/or promote employees within our firm. Though I never would suggest that two women fight over a job or promotion,( an invitation for sexual harassment and lawsuits)  I often fantasized about such scenarios. The closest  IRL, was a catfight between two associates who I was mentoring. It was never suggested that they fight for the promotion, but I believe  both realized what they actually were fighting about.  I wrote about this about 4 or 5 years ago somewhere in this forum.  Anyway, I was wondering if any ladies out there actually were asked or urged to fight another woman for a job or promotion. Would love to hear the details.

I haven't heard about catfights for a position (at least not since the old casting couch days in Hollywood), but I have heard of a few work place catfights where the looser left.  I don't think it was anything from management official or anything... looser just too humiliated to return.
I love catfights and chatting.  Look me up on trillian at ljack66   (I think... just figuring Trillian out)   https://www.deviantart.com/ljack66

I had the opportunity to try this a few years ago, but passed on it for obvious reasons (lawsuit) haha.  I was managing a bar in a rural area and we were hiring a new female bartender.  I had local women in their 20s, 30s, 40s of different shapes and sizes coming in to interview for about a week.  It was my first hire there so I was trying take time to hire "the right person for the job".  I was in the same position fightfanatic mentioned.  I had narrowed it down to the last few and had them come in for paid trials to see how they interacted with customers and all.  That's when all the talk started behind their backs.  Which, by the way, this wasn't some great job but in that area you could do well with that being a part time gig a few nights a week.  Plus, in a rural area, the bar is the only thing a lot of people have so you can make some decent money.  It was easy to pick up on who really didn't like each other.  I asked each of them in a nonchalant way "Would you fight for this job?"  Every one them said, in one way or another, "I'd kick their ass!".  Of course, like I said, I didn't follow through on asking my final 2 to do that for fear of legal trouble.

I guess that the belief each applicant has on being the right choice makes every woman proud and willing to show their skills, including those not so obvious...

To the women out there. What would be your response if put in the situation where you are asked to fight for a job that you really wanted. As I stated earlier, I often thought about this, but was always afraid of repercussions, lawsuits, negative publicity etc. so of course I never acted on my fantasy, though I believe there might have been a few times that if approached in the right manner some of the women would have been willing to fight. I guess I'll never know.

I wonder if you woulda even had lawsuits given how willing they were lol. But quite possible so not the greatest idea to go through with lol. I take it it never led to anything physical truly otherwise that you knew of unlike the story I spoke about?

You know, I've always kinda questioned if any of them would have really ever gone the legal route but hindsight is 20/20 haha.  No, I never heard about anything physical happening with any of them.  I was there for a few more months and then left.  I wanted to organize a mud wrestling competition/tournament at the bar.  Make it a big, full day event.  I was shot down.  The owner of that place wasn't too keen on doing things outside the box.  Very much a creature of habit.  I had to get away from that place.

In that area, a mud wrestling competition/tournament would have been EPIC!  Country girls know how to get after it haha.
