Is Rhonda Rousey so good she has become boring?

Rousey's last FOUR fights were won in a combined time of ** 130 seconds* and not all by extension holds; she took Correia in 34 seconds with a straight right punch. Let me say that another way for those of us not into stand up striking fights. Rhonda Rousey has taken out four professional fighters in less than half the time of a single round. Nothing near that has ever been achieved by any fighter, male or female.

The next major fights for Rhonda will be Holly Holm and Miesha Tate. Rousey comes mainly from the wrestling side of MA, and the closest she comes to a weakness is her punching game. Holly is champion boxer and has earned a shot at Rousey, others who have fought Rousey have had losses.

FIGHT stomp! FIGHT stomp! FIGHT stomp!!

Rousey is the best woman fighting on the planet right now, but a win by her is not a cosmic requirement. Holly Holm does need more MMA experience, she doesn't have an answer for Rhonda's superb judo skills. Even so Holm is strongest where Rhonda is weakest.  She could beat Rousey, and oh would that be SWEET. Tate is the only one who has fought Rousey into a third round. She will have been training for a year specifically to fight Rhonda Rousey.  I think she will mount a greater challenge to Rousey that Holly Holm.

Most of all I pray to the gods of fight that Rhoda will get past her hang up with Justino's juicing and everybody will agree to a chatchweight of 140lb so she and Cris cyborg can go at it. What a WAR that would be!!  That fight is a cosmic requirement, and would be a turn on of supernova fire.

A largely ignored factor is that Rousey's endurance has never really been tested. Tate is the only one who has taken her into round three, so
Miesha could test he; but *Cyborg* is one who has the power and diamond-hard determination to take her way beyond anything Rousey has ever experienced....if cyborg can endure RRs world class moves.

BTW, the Holm/Rousey fight has been moved from January in Vegas to November 14 in Australia.

The question that i would love to have the answer is how really strong is Rhonda Rousey? and others female fighters of the same size?
I would like to see her engaged and compared in submission fights with strong and big females bodybuilders around 175 to 200lbs for more than 5' 8 to 6 feet tall
I hnow that Rhonda is around 5'7 for 135 lbs.
Do you believe a very muscular Fbb like Nuriye Evans or some other girl of this size ( 5'9 for 190lbs) could resist to her and perhaps win a fight... or she would get ko'ed
very quickly or submitted by a MMA fighter like Rhonda?
At this level , does a much larger size can compensate the skill , stamina and experience of a lighter mma fighter?

yes her fights r short and boring but she has made me upper 5 figures so i deal with it.lol
I have an interest in female
hooligans fights too as well as Russian girl gang fights!!
i also pay entertainers to fight 1 another and i get photos of them here in Las Vegas Nv Sabrina is now 6-1 Yes i pay strippers to fight each other for $$.

I truly believe Ronda is beatable. Don't get me wrong, she is a damn good and well-rounded fighter. Her greatest skill is capitalizing on mistakes made by her opponents. I think once they (the UFC) find a striker with KO power that can get to Ronda before she closes on her, we will see Ronda on her back. I don't think Holly will be the one, but one can hope.
CRY BITCH!!! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!

....except that even when KO's happen in WMMA, it's never from a single punch.

Watch Gina Carano vs. Rosi Sexton. You will see a WMMA one punch KO.

Ronda is not going to be fighting much longer. After Holly Holm I only see her fighting 4 more times. Between really having no challengers (yet) and Hollywood calling she has no reason to continue fighting.

Just watched the fight Don suggested.  Damn what a punch!

But an observation in Gina's fight with Cyborg... Gina appeared to have Cyborg a couple times in that fight and let her off the hook imo. That, coupled with the debatable "quick stoppage" at the end of the round, I kinda wonder if Gina wanted to lose. It seemed to me that with her popularity at that time and being undefeated prior to that fight, was it too hard to walk away from mma for the Hollywood career? Did she lose purposely to make it easier to justify walking away from mma to the public?

Now Ronda has Hollywood calling.  Could we see history repeat? Maybe Ronda has to lose to walk away in her prime for better career opportunities.

Exhausted or not, that hook was right on the button.

umm..she took out behe correia in seconds with a single right, ref stoppage, true, but she wins with singles.
In mma ref stoppage is lots more common that is mma, which has lots more punishing hit variety, and it seems to have become a kind of tradition, maybe the standard is promoter want to see less hurt to "girls" or think they can take less - if so that would never be said aloud. But I will say- entirely a guess.

it is really good to see my post about Rousey be brought back- at least I was offline for a while and came back to see it here, and not through me "bumping" it back up.

Let me add a new opinion to my thoughts. One really interesting thing to consider is that RR's endurance has never once been really tested. the fight with Miesha Tate came the closet, going into the early 3rd round. Cyborg could test that a lot more. RR traines like a beast, and gets lots of aerobic, but still...would be a Cyborg advantage. Also, cris throws a hammer and RR is not so used to getting hit in the head.

OMG just imagine if RR got taken down with a single punch KO. WOW.

in answer to desmo. There are reasons MMA sees no true FBB players. Yes, they would be stronger in sheer muscle power than mma players, but that is not what mma is about, and not what mma fighters train for.  As a judoka and the bit of jujutsu class I did I was told to  go for more of a swimmer type build. You don't see much definition at all on Rousey,  Zingano, Carano, Tate etc.

BUT, yes Rousey could win a match vs them with a submission, IMHO, - because leverage and pain work on an FBB, or a guy, no matter how big n strong. This may be an 'out there' opinion, but I have thrown guys who were 200lbs in a few seconds; get below their center of gravity, have the move ingrained in muscle memory and let gravity be your friend. Then if it is Rousey, she gets her arm bar sunk in by skills not power, and her strength is enough to put plenty hurt into it. PAIN registers in an female lifter as much as anyone else. They would  submit. A lot depends on fight-luck.

Great to see so many interested in MMA, and surprising to me at this site.

To be fair, even men's MMA fights end in a one punch or even one strike KO. Maybe someone gets "dropped" and the winner bounces Going with a quick ground & proud which results in a TKO victory but pure KO endings are pretty rare.

@ Jill

Yeah why take that pounding when you can be rich and not put your body at risk long term in Hollywood? And despite her never getting really touch in a bout, Ronda 's had a few injuries. The training is just too brutal. Frankly I'm a bit surprised she hasn't had anything big yet *knock on wood*.

Good point Karen, the thing is not simply one PUNCH, esp in mma, but one STRIKE. quite a few mma matches have been ended with a single kick..ohh hand I remembe one of holly holm vs a black woman, whose name I don't remember.

Again- Why isn't mma popular here, it is actual women actually fighting?? the real deal.  I think cuz this is a guy's fantasy site, with majority guy chatters, and also sexual prejudice- the idea that scratch n bite is somehow the "natural" way for women to fight. Keeps us nice and unthreatening and somehow not the equal of men who do "real fighting"., TOTAL BS, and the usual lible against women. I get so sick of it.  But hey, we are here to have fun...

Is Carrano in the same weight class as Rousey? Ever think they may fight?

Thanks

Gina will never fight Ronda, there is literally no incentive. And I considering Cyborg got busted for PED's, I don't think Gina is bother by that lost at all. I also think Ronda is never going to fight Cyborg as well. Again no incentive.

That's a shame. If Rousey takes out Holly Holm in less than a minute people will be pissed. At least I will be.

I started this thread and will step out yet again. RR has indeed giotten so good she is boring and/or irritating with her excellence at this point. Yes RR will take out Holm and do it within the first round,  I think within the first minute, and yes I think Rousey and Cyborg will fight, with Rousey winning, though Cyborg is the only one, on the scene today besides Tate who has a chance vs RR.

Changing my attention to Paige VanZant. There's some action in her fights.

I don't really see Holmes winning but she has lots of boxing experince and is taller than Rousey. I too would like to see a Rousey fight go into the second or third round and see her pushed hard. It would be good for female MMA and I think Rhonda wil be more of champion if she eventually retires with at least one long, hard fight on her record book.
