My friend is from Albania and moved to Ireland in the 90s. She was 19 and seeing this guy who was moving to Ireland the following month for work. yea, I don't think it is as much about countries as individuals.  However, there are areas or regions where the culture is more concerned about "honor or pride".  In such an area, it would be more likely for a gf or wife to fight for her man.
