I rejoined this site after a year or two. It's way different and somewhat user unfriendly. If I'm on chat I can't seem to reply. I'm sure it's simple but good Lord. I can type a reply but see no provision to send. Someone help

How in the world do I reply on chat. I see no provision to send once I type a reply.

You do just like the old chat room you type in the text box then hit enter to send a message into the room if you get a PM on the top of the chatroom you will see the name of who pmmed you click on that then type in the text box and hit enter. To send a PM click on the name of the person you want to PM and then click on message.
