fighting in sequin dress or top?

Has anyone fought in a sequin dress or top, with those round sequins that look like it can cut a person??? I am thinking of writing a story where a 19 year old visits her aunt who has a dance studio.  The aunt sells Dance Wear for competition dancing and such... and in the same strip center is a martial arts studio where they can fight at night.... Would sequins on her dress or top  cut into either women?  Let me know  your thoughts on this..?
