have a pet project or two to complete, but working on setting up a series of short stories revolving around Scott Pilgrim vs the World, the video game/comic/movie. for those that don't know, it revolves around a boy who falls in love and is forced to fight the evil ex boyfriends of hers to win her heart. it's a great read and really recommend it, but anyway...
looking to swap the genders of everyone in the story and retell it in parody/erotic combat story. Kate Pilgrim falls for her new boyfriend Raymond, only to find that he used to date a number of jealous Indian sorceresses, porn stars, pro wrestlers, etc that put Kate through the wringer as she has to best them all as they come at her, either in catfighting or sexfighting or wrestling, etc. feels like the story has a lot of meat to it, and wondering what you all would think. I have more notes, but rather get an initial reaction to the idea
HA! I love that idea! should be SOOO much fun!!!
Can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

Interesting idea. I haven't read the comics but loved the film. Rather than the gender swap another idea maybe just do a series of fights featuring Stacey Pilgrim vs the other gals in the film? There are quite a opponents there as well such as Knives, Ramona, Kim, Envy, Roxie and Julie? Enough to do a gauntlet and you wouldnt be retreading old ground?
Regardless I'd be interested to see what you came up with.
Interesting idea. I've heard of the manga, never read it, never saw the movie.

ah, and found these for handy reference
am trying to work out some catchy titles like the actual series too for chapters... favorites include Kate Pilgrim...:
vs Fuckin' Everyone!
Kicks Some Ass
Takes Some Names
Gets her Shit Together
Gets Tag Teamed
Brings It On
Gets Mindfucked

I lesbians this idea.
I get it!
have been writing a little bit lately, but finding that, well... I like it too much. It makes me want to make it into a full fledged [smutty] book by changing the names and story enough to have a mostly original story. I haven't even gotten to the sexy part and I'm just liking the sense of humor to the story! Best example I've got so far is my opening scene...
"So I figure," said the girl, laying out in the bed, nude beneath the covers and stretching her arms over her head. Her hair was a dirty blonde (as she was sometimes called herself), shoulder length and splayed out beneath her head like a second miniature sheet. Her body was on the lean side, skinny but with some decent curves on her lightly muscled body, particularly on her DD chest, gently settled on her chest after the wild plowing she'd received. "I wanna go on a tour of the US some time next summer, and masturbate in every state."
"You realize that's insane," said the man with her, shaking his head. He was a tall sort, trim black hair and a body that might be called enviable, muscular overall and abs over his belly, but a shape soft enough that his lover had no quarrel with snuggling against his chest. "There is no way a sane person could go on that trip... alone. I'm coming with."
It was precisely then that Kate Pilgrim knew she was in love. The passionate drunken plowing she'd just experienced was quite suddenly lovemaking, and the buzzed smooth talker beside her was a future boyfriend. That pounding in her chest was from love now, not the feeling of what the law of averages stated to be six inches of another person inside her from moments ago (although the butterflies in her stomach had better like beer and buffalo wings).
so my main question... could a mostly humorous story with sexfights, dick/lesbian jokes galore, and general girlband kicking other girls' asses sell? would folks buy it, or would it even publish?
In regards to publishing it... I'm not sure about copyright infringments or lawsuits... it's awefully dangerouis grounds, but on an entirely personal note, I love it! I think it's funny and quirky in an oh so right way :)

oh i'd have to change a lot to get the story published without my ass being sued off, of course. juggle the story around, change a lot of names, drop the Pilgrim part, but think i can make it work. looking at a theme of Kate trying to put behind her fighting nature, promiscuity, and bisexuality through the fights to stay with Ray, even if he doesn't find it a big deal
*dig dig dig dig* The fight with male-Roxie has to conclude with Kate siccing Wallace on him, not unlike this: http://www.awkwardzombie.com/index.php?page=0&comic=082007
not totally against the idea... though in this story, Wallace/Wanda is her laid back lesbian roommate and by the end of things Kate's coach/teacher. The story's been really blossoming into its own thing, even if i'm not working on it very much right now... i like to summarize it well in its first paragraphs what it would be like (apart from the erotic fighting, but the tone)

It was precisely then that Kate Kinsly knew she was in love. The passionate drunken plowing she'd just experienced was quite suddenly lovemaking, and the buzzed smooth talker beside her was a future boyfriend. That pounding in her chest was from love now, not the feeling of six inches (going by the law of averages) of another person inside her from moments ago (although the butterflies in her stomach had better like beer and buffalo wings).
"That story's gayass," Wanda sighed, leaning in exaggerated boredom on her knees.
"It is absolutely NOT gayass!" Kate objected. "It's romantic and dreamy and true love!!"
"It was gay and I dare you to find a better judge," Wanda said with a confident smirk, as if that was her verbal checkmate.
But it held some truth to it. Given how long Wanda had been a lesbian (and how oddly GOOD she was at it), Kate was fairly convinced that she had some legitimate power over the lesbians of Canada. Like some kind of lesbian duke or earl or (some other name nobody gave their kids anymore).
