I've only heard of this happening once, and that was over how a woman got a certain job within a company, when she was a complete outsider. IE. She never worked for the company before.

The main reason I can recall is their kids fight. One kid going his/her home crying to complain his/her mother mother that she/he has beaten me then the mother goes to d winners mother to complain n they themselves start fighting eventually one women goes to her home crying other ladies n neighbours enjoys the fight. And after seeing all these d couples go to their bed rooms n ve sex while singles just musterbate. the losing mother also after subsiding enjoy sex with her husband a lot at night by recalling the fight he had in the day.
And winner of course enjoy a lot and kids forgot about their fight
As it is a very complex question on a multifaceted subject, it should be addressed as such. I work as a freelance writer, have worked in the hospitality business and in customer support, in other words, fields with female dominance (which is mostly because these are jobs most men don't want to do). That is to say the social hierarchy of women is not different from that of men and an equal bottle necking exist (you might know this better as a glass ceiling) where resources are intentionally distributed unevenly so that internal conflict within organization take the load off of having to make hard and tough decisions.
Ever since cities became a thing followed by organized religions, the public hierarchy was created that "real" positions can be only held by men and lesser functions are to be inhabited by women. The more socially conservative the circle you come from the more you're likely to believe women have no ambitions. In contrast, these strength admiring hierarchies have been established so that self-righteous people don't have to "suffer" such processes like having their ideas challenged. That way they also don't have to fight to keep their position or fight to keep resources they lord over.
As individuals, the reasons for women to fight varies in reason, intensity and temper. It can be spontaneous like a road rage, or planned. It can be a personal conflict, or just as sinclairfan says a conflict borne out one of them gaming the system to their own benefit. It can be a class issue, and spoiler alert, if you don't live in a country with a rich economy, it can be nationalism, or even straight up bigotry, like a racist of sexual based hate crime.
Heck, sinclairfan's Memel story might be fiction (and I encourage all of you to read it), that situation has not changed in a century. So all in all the question depends on the answer you seek, but I do know it for a fact women don't like their serious conflicts be reduced to sexualized catfights.

I have always been fascinated by local newspaper reports of fights between women. The action is never reported but the ages of the women and the place and reason for the fight were always thrilling. every woman has there own reasons to fight as for me I've fought with bad employees that I fired, women who make fun of fat girls, and even fought the girl who was messing around with my ex husband and lets not forget fighting girls who thing big tits and a sexy skinny body makes them good fighters
Throughout my childhood I got my mother into numerous fights just because I had been fighting with another kid. Sometimes my mother would confront them but usually it was the other mother confronting my mother.

I think the reasons why aggressive women fight are several, first, envy, because you are more beautiful, because you are richer, because you are popular or outstanding, the ugly and envious bitches seek to fight for those reasons; second and also, the crazy and aggressive bitches look for a fight for jealousy, and worse if the crazy bitches are drunk. Today other girls who fight for competition, but the worst and most dangerous are women who fight for envy and jealousy

Many times, the woman talking trash WANTS gossip of her comments to get spread to her rival. It's an indirect way of calling the woman out.
Only if she's secure in her own position can't be threatened. Since men did not stop using the personal tragedies of other men, whose lives were or are crippled by PTSD, depression or other ailments, as a talking point/"proof" that we're the weaker sex, women will continue to rely on whisper networks (which may consist of the same people as gossip networks only they exist to further security) to defend themselves from it.
As long as we sexualize most women without asking them if they like or need it, the difference will remain, that unlike with us men who step over the line of legality, practically endorsed to do so, female mortal enemies need to overcome additional steps, provided both are rational people. The Real Housewives of New Jersey is one of the easiest reality to make as Italian American women are already expected to lean heavily into temperament.
