I want to state up front that I'm very aware that not everyone on this forum purporting to be a woman actually is. I emphatically DO NOT want this discussion to go into the area of who is or is not what they represent themselves to be.
I personally believe that for every woman who has a profile on this forum and actively participates there are at least a dozen, perhaps several dozen who frequent this forum and never post or comment at all. I personally know women who do "lurk" frequently on here and would never remotely consider creating a profile or commenting here. As the title says, I'm curious to know if other members of this forum agree or disagree with my speculation.

Agreed, I'm sure there are plenty who lurk. Welcome lurkers! For there is no harm in lurking.
I would guess maybe 10% of the people who come here are really "active" in any way shape or form. They don't go to the chat room regularly, they don't post on the forums, they don't fill out their profile, etc. Male or Female. I am sure we have plenty of lurkers of either sex as well as looky lou's who stumble on the web site glance around, and drift on to the next thing. I absolutely believe that the people that are here represent a tiny fraction of the people who share this interest to some extent.

Let me ask you a question. Why do you think a woman would be motivated to come to this site? I know why men do. And I know why men pose as women and come here. But how about women? What do you think they are looking for?
