As you will all be aware, we experienced a significant server outage over the course of the weekend. We have had a major hardware failure and are working hard to retsore normality as quickly as possible.
Currently the site is up, but we are still testing it and it may go offline again at any stage.
Be assured, we are on the case. For updates, I'd suggest as a backup, follow our twitter account - @Freecatfights / https://twitter.com/Freecatfights
thanks
John
Thxx for the update John.... :)
Thank you for the update and your good work
Thanks for the hard work!
We have been under a DDoS attack since late Saturday. We believe / suspect it is a disgruntled forum member.
We are working to minimize it so please bear with us all.
thanks
john
Thanks for the update and all the hard work you have put into getting the site up and running
Not a virus attack, a DDoS :-)

I do not know a lot about Ddos or viruses, but , if it is an attack, are our data safe? I mean, if someone makes a Ddos attack, is it just some kinds of stupid prank to make the website bugging for a few hours, or is it stealing our emails, IPs and stuffs ?
Do we know if it is just something against the administration of this website, or against people loving wrestling roleplays in general, and wanting to shame and expose people?
Cant say much about where it came from but yes, data is safe (as much as it it on any website, we keep the forum software upto date. etc), basically it's like you standing in a street and one person asking you for directions which you give them easily vs 10000 people around you in the street asking you for directions in which case you break...
The server gets overwhelmed with data requests, the intention is to bring the site down.
:o Wow thaanx for the info
just a question ,,john ....after what happened it seems the fonts in the chat room seem smaller but thxxx for getting the site up again..interesting reading on that DDos
Thanks so much for your hard work in getting the site back up and running. I sincerely it wasn't a disgruntled member, but I have to wonder....could this attack be linked to whomever tattles on our posts from YT?? Just a thought.....
We are still working on it :-)
Thank you very much for the informations and the update John. Keep up the good work
Thank you John... :)
Thank you for your hard work John
Big thumbs up.
Thanks for the support all. Please also give an even bigger thank you to Oughost, our System Administrator who has put in a huge effort to bring life back to this place.
Without his work on this we would be days away from this point.
We are not out of the woods yet and the site may yet go offline again ..and again.. but we are in a better position today than yesterday and that is all we can hope for, to move forwards.
I know there are some minor issues with the site at the moment but our intention and target is firstly stability. Once we have established that for a period, we can start to fine tune things and work on fixes here and there
Please follow us on twitter to stay informed if the site does go down again - @Freecatfights / https://twitter.com/Freecatfights
cheers
John
Thank you very much, John! Not only for dealing with this unfortunate incident but also for all your hard work on the day-to-day running of this terrific site! :)
Glad to see you back, missed you. :)
Very pleased to see the site back. Thanks for all your hard work!
Great to see you up and running again, and thanks to everyone responsible for your return
We're monitoring the server. Huge thanks to our sys admin Outghost here. We have been under a heavy and sustained DDoS attack. If you know what that is, it's not even funny.
Anyhow, we could be hit again but were monitoring the servers and have some additional steps in place which may / should / could help us next time around.
It could be a bumpy ride for a bit.
Thanks John and Outghost for all the hard work you have put into getting us up and running. I know I was hearing from ALOT of people who have missed it here.
Whatever you guys did, good job. Way to stay and fight for what you created. I might not get along with some of the admins/mods, but I respect your willingness to keep this site going. So I'll be on my best behavior while in here, out of respect.
Thanx for getting up and running again
Huge thanks to everyone who worked so hard to bring this community back online.
So glad to see you back! :) Who on earth would make an attack on a cat fight site? Some twit!
Thank you for your hard work!
So, if this was a Distributed Organized Denial Of Service, it would be DODOS?
so happy your back ,i thought it was cuz i spilled my pepsi on my keyboard the other day and it messed up your site.
Thank you for working through this.
I still can't understand why anyone would want to bring this site down. It doesn't make any sense. It's not like this site offends anyone.
thanks for putting this fantastic site back on track
Being in IT I have an idea of how hard y'all had to work to get this place back up. Thanks for the effort!
Just like everybody else a big thank you for all the hard work. I sure missed the site when it was down.
Big Thanks for All the Efforts to bring This Site Back :-* :-* :) :) :) Dan
Joining the chorus of massive "thank you's" directed to John and Outghost.
Kinda confused who would have the resources for a "heavy, sustained" DDOS attack on FCF, but if you track them down, feel free to post name/IP address on this site. Some of us are quite adept at exacting revenge, and the internet is not known for being merciful.
*loads tomato cart*
We have a few ideas, some places relished, glorified and celebrated the fact that the site was down.
The tomato cart is fully loaded
Thanks so much for the effort! It's good to see FCF back, when I'm back home from my Katy Perry discovery trip abroad I'll have some stories to write, in the meantime I'll enjoy checking for new posts/topics 😃

And despite all their efforts they still can't get more people on their site than a busy day in our chat ;)
Actually they still cant get more ppl on their site than an average day in our chat room ;)
Stop the FUCKING ATTACKS...Were Down but now OUT!!!!!!!
Well we're back for a bit
