Not sure where to put this. Mods, I apologize in advance.
The last couple of weeks I've had all kinds of issues with Yahoo. First, they moved me to this new "neo" format for groups that messed all kinds of things up. It was so bad that the links they had had too many // in it. That's just horrible, horrible coding and to put it out there for people without warning? Sheesh.
Now today it seems that when I go to check my mail I automatically log in to messenger. I've even logged into messenger when I haven't been near the computer. I don't know if it's their bad coding or if I've been hacked. I apologize to anyone I may have sent spam to. I changed my password so that shouldn't happen again. I hope.
The sad thing is, Yahoo is still the best when it comes to the cyberfighting community that I've seen. Ugh.
Sorry, needed to rant.
Now back to your regularly scheduled mayhem.

Yahell at its best!
Yeah, really bad coding. have you noticed that they do a SQL injection check on incoming text, but then forget to switch back from ASCII code to the ' lately? Sloppy, sloppy work. If they had announced this and said it was a beta test, that'd be one thing. But this just happened with no warning.

Maybe the new CEO should employee better programmers and not ship this stuff overseas. Bad programmers, bad!
I agree. Who owns Yahoo now? I'll write him a stern letter.

Some lady now is the CEO. Who you need to write to is the CTO.
Marissa Meyer is the CEO....
A fellow Stanford alum...
Who I think is awesome......she'll be all over this.....trust me :)
Bullshit!
On a brighter note the fearful leader of yahoo is afraid of warrants from Fisca.
I'll put Marissa Mayer up against anyone.....anyone who knows her record knows what she can and will do
Previously, she was a long-time executive and key spokesperson for Google. Mayer was ranked number 14 on the list of America's most powerful businesswomen of 2012 by Fortune magazine.
Mayer graduated with honors from Stanford University with a B.S. in symbolic systems and an M.S. in computer science. For both degrees, her specialization was in artificial intelligence. In 2009, the Illinois Institute of Technology granted Mayer an honoris causa doctorate degree in recognition of her work in the field of search.
Mayer joined Google in 1999 as employee number 20 and was the company's first female engineer.
During her 13 years with the company, she was an engineer, designer, product manager and executive. Mayer held key roles in Google Search, Google Images, Google News, Google Maps, Google Books, Google Product Search, Google Toolbar, iGoogle and Gmail. She also oversaw the layout of Google's well-known, unadorned search homepage
On May 20, 2013, Mayer led Yahoo to acquire Tumblr in a 1.1 billion dollar acquisition.
In 2013, Mayer ranked 32 in the Forbes Magazine's List of The World's 100 Most Powerful Women.
Yeah....I think she'll get it done :)
I know when I first posted this lots of people looked at me like I had two heads or something. Now that this NEO format has become more widespread, what do others think?
I've always looked at you like you have two heads :P

Well being included without being asked is bad form. And from what I read there is not a way to go back...
Totally agree!!!!!!! I dont know if someone has too much time on their hands or what. Funny, the groups in the foreign Yahoos - UK, Brazil, etc dont seemed to have changed.
I am just glad I have not yet been chosen!
I hope she gets on top of the problem, Michelle. The groups, Flicker and the Sports page are a mess, not nearly as easy to navigate and view as they are a mess.
I haven't been online much the past few weeks, just to check yahoo mail and such. Well while I'm on my account today, I get failure delivery notices. Someone's sending spam e-mails from my account. I know it's all from yahoo's side because I just did a fresh upgrade and cleaning on this computer. Dammit Yahoo! I changed my password and hopefully that'll be the end of it.
As Marissa Mayer serves on a Stanford Alumni committee with me and we converse at times.....I have sent Marissa several emails recently outlining what I have heard on here and from others I work with and friends.......again, all who have issues with Yahoo service....
She's usually responsive and while I don't expect miracles I'm still going to try....I use Yahoo a lot my self....

Gee Red, I doubt most people here could tell the difference form your regular emails and the "spam" emails!
All kidding aside, that blows! I recently to change my password for yahoo again, and it did have special characters, lower/uppercase letters and was not a phrase. Either the vulnerability is back where you do a basic injection attack to reset the password via email code OR it is one hell of a brute force attack, but they should have better safe guards in place.

Please deliver this message to her:
Dear Marissa,
Your new yahoo makeover sucks! Hire more competent programmers.
Best Wishes,
One pissed off systems administrator!

Honestly, from what sense I could make of the code, it looke like they are getting in and grabbing my contact list. It could be from a Yahoo satellite site like Flickr where they are coming in and hacking.

You know that raises a point, you have all of these companies buying out others, through legitimate means, but with social media sites "interacting" with each other, I would really like to see the security interaction.
I see what they are trying to do. They want the photo section to be like Tumblr, which I find to be an annoyance. If you open up a photo from the page and don't send it to
a different tab, when you go back it takes you back to the top of the photo page. VERY POOR DESIGN.
>:(

I wonder if they will ever fix the problems ?
Just as soon as the ObamaCare websites are fixed......which will be the year 2020.
The new mail interface and messenger chat that goes with it is very buggy.
Maybe Marissa is the top of the top....but Yahoo is her Achilles heel.
I have given up using Yahoo Groups. Gods how horrible it is...cant stand it.
Why, oh WHY they dropped Yahoo 360, I shall never know.
For me, it was the PERFECT system. Since then, every subsequent change has been claimed to be "an improvement", and has been accompanied by fanfares of trumpets.
Improvements?? The experiences of my friends and me all say the opposite!!

I loved 360. It helped me stay connected to my friends and I was able to blog really easily and point people to it. What they have now has made profiles useless if you can even see them.
I agree totally!
And I find the tiny "window of opportunity", which lets you see only a tiny part of your incoming emails is so very irksome.
Good luck in your quest to get some REAL improvements - and Thank You for trying.
GG
ok..I give up!!
yahoo sucks!!!
it pulls pics into my YIM at random.....and they aren't even in the Yahoo system!!

Don't get me started on the mail system that is now just a bad mimic of gmail.
Yahoo is light years ahead of any chat, especially the buggy one that is here in FCF. Stop whining about something you get fro free. Sure the email isnt the best, but its the only place where you can chat without worrying about screen freezing up.
If anyplace sucks, it's this place. Yahoo is where the action is.
There is my $.02
Lauren.
P.S. Anyone with Yahoo messenger interested in cyber matches (Females only), send me a message here.
If Lauren's last line was deliberate then thats fantastic!
Just to prove the saying..."Where there's life, there's hope!"
Yahoo UK has recently been merged with Yahoo Ireland; and there is already one small benefit!
The annoying "small window of opportunity", which only let you view a few emails at a time, has now returned to the happy situation, where you can view a WHOLE page of emails!!
Maybe this heralds a new dawn...slowly and surely??
GG
I dunno, my Yahoo mail page has changed yet again. Ugh.
Sorry to hear that, Red Enforcer
As someone on FCF said recently..." Why can't they leave well alone? "
GG
They changed it all around for the alphabet agencies to spy on you more easily.
And what record does Marissa Meyer have, I mean how many loses and what fight style?
Guessing she is a jobber deep down!

hahahaha! I love it!! ;D

The new page it seems autologs me into messenger when I'm just checking e-mail. Sheesh. I don't want it to do that because there are times I don't have time to be on messenger and just want to see my e-mail.

Her motto " it is an old thread, I must bump it!"
Yes Yahoo does suck.
