A while back TUFF ( tidewater fighting females I think) appeared on yahoo and myspace plus the organiser/coach , screename dr puck began to put up a lot of great vids on YT.
The girls seemed to be local and mostly late teens to early 20's and had an agressive mat grappling approach.
They even did events at local ( Virginia beach) locations with a ref from one of the MMA organisations , plus open air demos
It all seemed refreshingly open and " above board" . As time went on the girls migrated to a more grappling ( NAGA style) , I think some entered NAGA events
Then suddenly POP no more YT and it seems to have gone, gone, gone( there are still YT vids but they are bootlegs not drpuck's channel)
Any ideas/knowledge of why or what went wrong maybe??
Yes, it's weird, and very very disappointing. I can't really think of a good explanation - hope somebody knows.
They developed a pretty good style of fighting. This one is unusual in that hitting was allowed but for something that started as basi grappling they got a long way to full MMA

Thanks wrestling addict. I wonder if it was piracy or the organiser overstepped the mark himself. Anyway a shame it had to get into papers like this.

What I heard was a former girl, who was their prima donna, didn't like losing and had quit, and had been looking for a way to screw TUFF and the owner. So she made up some half truths and went to a TV station playing the victim, during sweeps week, and they ran with it without really checking the facts,and distorted everything big time. The station already has 4 lawsuits for frivolous journalism like this from what I was told. This former girl, Lizzie (who conveniently was kept anonymous in the TV thing), actually took money from guys for sessions against the TUFF wishes, used their gym to do it without permission, did a bikini catfight, and didn't want to get along. She also knew full well what was going on, and yet played innocent victim and they ate it up. She had been treated nothing but nicely by the owner, paid lots of money, and then she screwed him. I think he got tired of all the drama and just shut it down. It's a shame.
I was wondering the same, that is a shame that happened to him and why am I not surprise it was who you named. I watched a number of her fights. Thank you for the update.
