I think a party is one of the most likely places for seeing a catfight.

Technically this would not qualify as a spontaneous scrap but about 4 summers ago I was at a barbeque.  Lots of drinking and food but no pool or spa.  Loud music, mostly a younger crowd but I was invited along with some friends my age. The guy that threw the party brought out a pair of mma gloves and some of the guys paired off for some impromptu matches.  There was a limit of 3 rounds per fight and it was pretty much a free for all with mma type rules. Punching, kicking and wrestling allowed. One of my girlfriends and I were watching and some of the guys were suggesting that some of the girls give it a try. None of the women watching the guys do it wanted to give it a try.  My friend and I were pursuaded and to be good sports we agreed. If we hadn't been drinking quite a bit I don't know if we would have done it. At first we were kind of tentative, laughing a bit, but after I popped her one in the face we did get into it.  We were only supposed to go 2 rounds, but because I won one and she won one we were goaded into a third round. She won the third.  Both of us ended up with bloody noses and some bruises. What I did not know and this sort of pissed me off was someone video'd it and uploaded it to you tube.  Another friend told me about it and eventually it was taken down.  The girl I fought and I are still friends. Unfortunately, she had to move to the midwest to take a job so we have lost touch.  Anyway thats the only party fight I can recall.  Most parties I've been to, the only arguments I've witnessed were between couples.

Interesting story Sue, were the rounds timed or just till one gave? If so how long were they?

Incidentally, the pic you have on your profile, is it from that fight?

They were timed like 2 minutes or 3 and yes the pic is from that party.

Thought as much, I know you were upset about the video then, but would you ever be willing to show it now? Assuming you have it of course. I'd be interested to see it. No worries if not though, just am asking.

The video doesn't belong to me and I do not want it posted. I don't have a problem with the still photo but no video.
