Title: Get out of my head!
Post by: jessicasinger on April 20, 2011, 02:31:53 AM
I'm having an irl problem that hopefully some of the vets around here can relate to.  I like to think I'm a pretty good fighter but I've learned I'm easily distracted.  If I'm focused, I fight really well, but some girls can say or do things that really rattle me and make me nervous or angry or embarrassed.  Am I alone here and does anyone have any suggestions?  The things that get to me most often and effectively are:

Is anyone with me on this one?

PS.  No, I did NOT just give you a list of ways to beat me.  It's only irl that i have these problems (duh) and most of you would have enough trouble GETTING me into situations like these, so don't get excited :)

"like if I'm fighting a bustier opponent"

judging from your profile pic I'd say that's damn near impossible.

tell me, how often did you fight? i started irl fighting last year and well, i have similar problems but i hope after some time and with more experience it will become easier. can anyone more experienced confirm?

i think that now i am a lot cooler than in my first matches. so i would say just go on. probably your opponents feel the same way.

I think it's natural to have these problems (I'm not a woman, so I can't say for sure), just because when you begin, you never really think of losing or anything.  And it is a sport/competition.  Like any competition, you're focused on winning and little things can shake you easily because your adrenaline is rushing.  However, time/experience cuts down on this because you learn to be more relaxed and calm.  And you learn to take it in fun.  You just have to remind yourself that:

A) You're body is fine.  You have an amazing body.
B) Her shaking her ass while face sitting you or taking off your top is just her having a little fun or sexing it up for any observers and given the chance, you should feel free to do the same.  You shouldn't let it fluster you.
C) Power moves are a part of wrestling/catfighting and to a lesser degree, NHB/fighting.  It's not really anything to be afraid of.  Unless she's some huge weight lifter, it's all in the technique, use of adrenaline, and leverage.  Don't be scared of it.  It doesn't mean she's going to begin pounding you.  Learn how to counter and try to relax.  If you're all rigid, you stand a chance of being hurt more.
D) It's all in fun.  Don't be so up tight.

I hope so... I fight about once a month or so, sometimes more.  it's nice to hear you're getting better at handling it

once you had some more matches, it will be ... well not normal but you get a bit used to. it won't bother you too much and it will be easier to stay focused.
