Title: Would you fight an opponent much younger or older than you???
Post by: ripher_apart on March 29, 2011, 11:45:48 PM

This came up in one of the questions I had posted in this forum.   If you had a neighbor or friend who tells you that a person wants to fight you but say is 16 or 17 would you fight them??? Also if the person say was in her 60's and still a good fighter would you fight her???  I know in one judo class i watched they had no problems with 13 or 14 years old sparring with adults to learn the holds and learn how to fight.  What is your opinion... I am no talking fighting nude, but in jeans and blouses or t shirts.... I enjoy age differences in fights, but would like to hear the different opinions of the forum readers...
       Thanks

As long as we are similar in size/experience,I have no problem taking on a younger (or older, although probably not many of them).  LOL.

While this discussion was probably for the ladies, I wanted to post a response as well. I am 63 now, so  anyone I wrestle with is younger. On occasion, I have been fortunate enough to wrestle with someone in their early 50's....but mostly, my opponents are in their 20's, 30's and 40's. Still hopeful that one day, I can find an opponent close to my age...kick our walkers out from under us and watch us tussle.... :o

When I was 19 I wrestled a 42 year old women in a mixed match. Definitely prefer wrestling older women.

Depending on the style of match older women can be more fun.

Prefer to fight women somewhere in the vicinity of my age. But if a female tries to put a move on my man, I don't care how old or how big she is, she's going to get hurt. I'm sure this is a common response from most females. Don't try to take what is mine.
