Title: my pics
Post by: 3dfighter on January 03, 2011, 09:24:23 PM
I wont be putting anymore pics up on this board. The main reason is, hardly anyone ever comments.

If I get more paid commissions and comments, perhaps I will in the future.

thanks for checking out my art!

people cant comment if they cant see the pictures. its not your fault, but it is your problem to solve if you want comments.

thanks!  Actually, this may sound hypocritical, but I hate to see a woman getting brutally beaten, by a man or a woman in real life. I mean getting hit with boards, kicked when she is down etc... a 1 on 1 fight is fun to watch when it involves slapping, hairpulling, rolling around, etc...but not when it could send them to the hospital or worse.   My art stems from violence you will see in comic books, such as the old Chaos comics such as Lady Death and Purgatori (which is my 2 favorite female comic characters beside Rogue and Lara Croft), Vampirella, or Conan series :) Anyone who has read those can definatly say my art is nothing compared to that LOL

thanks again!

seriously... i like your work. it's not worth the constant threats of leaving for the attention, and that's all it is. Even if you are serious about leaving, it's only because you're not getting enough comments and commissions and complain that not everyone hangs onto your threads. There's a lot  of stuff on this board so even if your artwork was there, there's a lot of it here so it can be hard to miss. I write stories that can take me weeks and nobody responds to the thread. I'm FINE with that. maybe people hate it and don't want to comment, maybe people read it and enjoyed it but didn't have the time to comment (or came and forgot). it happens.

plus, imageshack is a pretty lousy uploader, especially for smut. you can try Sad Panda like i suggested, or deviantart, or just drop it.

so if you feel offended, leave. it's a shame but many won't mind since we can't even see half of your work. later, and good luck

I feel the need to comment on this; I'm glad I saw it. I bust my ass on some of the stories I've done, and I might get three or four comments and most of them will be from the same people who comment my work before. I look at views, but I can understand that if you put something on the board for folks to see, you might want to leave if you're not getting any responses because you don't know if people really like your work or not. But what I've done is I've just started writing for the sport of it. I'm a teacher and writer IRL, so this is fun, but it's also practice for more important things. If you're going to teach Creative Writing, you have to know something about it. I know what it's like to get zero replies; so every view and every response I get means something to me because you and I both know how hard replies are to come by. And we both want to know that our work is appreciated, not just for our own criticism, but to thank the people who encourage us.

So, if you choose to leave, I understand where you're coming from. I know that if I put "Mother" in the title of my stories or had more characters who I mentioned were mothers, then maybe I'd get more replies, but that's not what I write for and that's not who I am. I write so that I can look at what I've done and appreciate it and know that others did too and that's more important to me than replies. I want to tell good stories just like you want to create great pictures and that's what you have to do. Talent is talent, whether it's replied to or not. Be creative for creativity's sake ;)
