Who all is on Discord? What has your experience been? Do you use it more or less than Trillian? I'm thinking of making the leap.

Discord was a great messenger, unlike Trillian (in my case), it saved the entire history, but it was blocked in my country:( . Now it works every other time:(. But telegram is best.

I haven't used trillian since 2019, I hate trillian.. People kept adding me to groups that I never asked to join. It doesn't give you the option to reject. Then it was a bunch of chat with everyone loading their pictures. If I wasn't on for a few days, it would freeze due to 1000 messages and pictures and this was with a brand new computer with a fast processor. I hated the groups there. You would be in the middle of a match there and then this idiot that ran the group would post "vote for rubber doll" (some porn star) with pictures right in the middle of the match.
I use discord and chatfighters only for my matches now.
Discord private messenger blows trillian away and also better than chatfighters
Messenger:
Trillian - just sucks in so many ways
Chatfighters - only keeps history for 30 days, can't send gif files can only link to giphy for gifs (I use gifs for wrestling moves)
Discord - keeps history for a few years and can send up to 8mb of gif files (disadvantage of discord messenger is you have to be a member of a server group or add people as your friend to send messages.
There are both public and private discord servers. I avoid the public servers, mostly cesspools of subbies, supers and creeps. There is only 1 really good public server that I can recommend called CWL that boots the creeps. There are some good private servers with less than 100 people that specialize in what you might be looking for.
I am surprised in 2024 that people use trillian still. When yahoo messenger shut down in like 2014 or so, many of us jumped to trillian and I thought trillian was inferior to yahoo.
I hate Trillion, it's the worst messenger of all. Now I only use discord and it suits me completely

the most simple way is to ask others on here for their discord handle and then send them a friend request. there's also sites like disboard that list public servers that are dedicated to certain hobbies, like catfighting: https://disboard.org/servers/tag/catfight?nsfw=1

private servers also exist but those are only accessible if you join the right friend circles.

I agree it was such a shame they screwed Yahoo up. It really was great. The great part is it really was multidimensional and easy to meet and chat with new people with a variety of interests. Still surprised nobody has ever copied their format. Discord is OK, but you need to start as a member of the groups to find anybody. And most of their groups you have to be invited to even find them. I actually created a channel there and Even then I haven't really seen a lot of catfight fans there regularly. Trillian the problem is finding people that share your interests. Great chat platform, but hard to find people without starting here.

Discord is more stable platform, and with the various channels and groups you'll find a lot more into same and they chat. Trillian is a pic collectors wet dream most exchange pics and once they have their fill gone before the match stars, in my opinion make the jump
Oh yes Casey, you really need to make the switch. You won't regret it at all. So nice to come back after a few weeks and see your comments are still there and editing your posts is so easy. Since joining Discord, I rarely ever go back to Trillian anymore. Good luck :)
