Who wins these hard fight?

It will be a long and hard fight, but I think that Amanda will come out on top, possibly forcing Yvonne to submit from a facesit pin...

Amanda without a doubt. She is big, strong and stubborn. No fancy martial arts, just a good old blonde on redhead catfight.

Yvonne takes this one. She has practiced and studied a lot for her role as Sarah Walker on Chuck. She grew up a tom boy by her own admission. She was a dancer for age 5 until 18. She is more 'one of the guys' than 'one of the girls'. Most importantly she has that 'fighting spirit' as found in Charlize Theron. Yvonne is the new Charlize.  :)

No doubt that Yvonne has good martial art moves but how would she do in a good old fashioned catfight against the other acknowledged Tom-boy, Amanda. I just think that Amanda would be to much for her.

Admittedly, Yvonne might Amanda down with her higher martial arts skill level and experience but that is not asubch fun to watch or fatasize.

Yvonne wins if they use martial arts.  Amanda wins if they wrestle.

My vote goes to Yvonne.

Kick-boxer Yvonne will destroy her with barefoot kicks to the chest and face!  She will then pose her gorgeous fighting foot right on her face, rubbing her victory in!

You know, folks, you see Yvonne on TV with her super-awesome kickboxing skills - she never loses fights on Chuck! - and think it's real. But it isn't. She's athletic, flexible, sure enough, but that pretty much means zero about her real-life skill. Check out that youtube video above - does anybody seriously believe her punches and kicks would be equally strong as her male opponent - really? She's not untalented, but she's not a pro. And when we're talking about that - Amanda practices Muay Thai, and she's probably not any worse than Yvonne, even though there hasn't been a screenplay to write about it yet.

I can see Yvonne winning this fight - that's not the problem - but deciding it just because Chuck's Sarah Walker is a kickboxing fight queen? Not for me. On a purely physical body-vs-body basis, Amanda is stronger.

BloodySam is correct of course. There is Yvonne Strahovski, the real person, and there is Sarah Walker, the fictional "Shemale". As regards Sarah, she doesn't win every fight, just most of them. Every time I see that some actress practices and knows  kick boxing, boxing, etc. I give a little chuckle to myself. Most of the time these women do it for exercise and not to learn how to really box or kickbox. If you read her interviews Yvonne says she does practice the martial arts but mainly so she looks convincing on camera when she throws punches, kicks, etc. But she also says that these fights are choreographed (BIG SURPRISE lol) and that her dancing makes it easy for her to pick up the choreography. She also has said that the actresses (and I suppose actors) she has faced vary in quality as to how well they can perform a convincing fight. She praised Nicole Richie who, for having her first such fight, did it quite well. Others have left a little to desire. (My paraphrase) Sarah's fighting scenes on Chuck vary, from taking on two or three big dudes at once and beating them to having trouble with woman smaller than her. It's all in the staging. What is impressive about these scenes is how much of the action she does herself and sometimes you can see real bruises or scraps that go along with it.

Having watched some work out sessions it is clear that Yvonne has learned how to punch and punch hard, at least a punching bag. But that is not the same as a real person and a moving target that hits back. When I picked Yvonne to win it is more because of her overall athleticism, her sports background, her dancing background, and her personality - read that as barbosa's "fighting spirit" which I think the real Yvonne has; not her 'martial arts' skills'. Her biggest disadvantage is her weight. She is lucky if she weights 120 pounds at 5'9". She looks slender on camera and is even thinner looking in person. That 120 pounds probably has some lead weights in her pocket. She seems so nice in real life but I suspect if she ever got angry at you then you would be in big trouble.

Excellent comments. I would have to assume the same for Amanda. I have not been able to find anything that would suggest that Amanda practices martial arts on a basis other than exercise and possible preparation for her role. Unfortunately, she doesn't get into many fights on the "Mentalist" series. I read somewhere that she weighs about 133 lbs. That appears to be correct. Given a level playing field with neither woman knowing martial arts, it would be a pretty good fight with Yvonne being more athletic. However, if they took it to the floor, I believe Amanda would be in the saddle and riding our favorite blond to submission.

Well, just for starters: I don't think any well-known actress/model practises martial arts for actual competitive reasons: that's why they're celebrities and not prize fighters.

Hearing a particular actress trains in martial arts/boxing, etc. is a clear plus for my image of her as a fighter, though as I said above, I don't use TV scripts and characters as proof.

As for Amanda: I don't think she's ever had a martial arts role in a film or on TV, so she didn't start doing muay thai or boxing because she had to, but because she wanted it. She mentions boxing as a hobby in most of her interviews, so I'd assume it's not just exercise but at least partly, fun.

"Mats are set up and we start fighting each other," admits Righetti. "I don't enjoy watching fights as much as I enjoy fighting myself, but it is close."

There you go: fight night parties with friends. I don't know about you, but I find that hot. And for me, it's as much 'proof' I need to keep my personal subjective idea of Amanda as one of Hollywood's best celebrity fighters intact.

Thanks BloodySam. Now I see there is another actress I need to check out. I have watched The Mentalist a few times because it is the favorite show of a friend of mine. But I only found it of marginal interest. I probably should give it a few more viewings. But that is interesting information about Amanda.

I went to watch chuck because I read where it had this "hot blonde chick to likes to kick ass." That was an accurate description but there is a lot more to Chuck and to the "hot blonde chick" than that. The show isn't so easy to get into in the middle like I did because what has happened before is important. So you really need to go back and watch at least the first few episodes. But what I discovered was what how excellent an actress Yvonne Strahovski is. I think without her acting skills her character, Sarah Walker, would be completely unbelievable. But Yvonne brings to to life to a believable way.So I have become a big fan of hers.

Now it sounds like I should also pay more attention to Amanda.  :) :)

Absolutely great information. Who are her friends? Male or female? Also, thanks for the picture. I haven't seen that one before. I agree that she is HOT. Given your intimate knowledge of this attractive redhead, who do you feel would be worthy opponents.

Another reason Amanda will be jealous of Yvonne and want to tear her apart. Yvonne was namedNo. 1 in BuddyTV's list of 100 sexiest women on 2010 Television.




Angie Harmon's character kicked Yvonne's character's ass on one episode of Chuck. Bet Angie would like to do the same to Yvonne

Another fight I would like to see as Sarah Walker (Yvonne's character on Chuck} vs Ziva David -  a liaison to NCIS for the Israeli Mossad (Coté de Pablo's character on NCIS) in a spy vs spy battle. Oh what the hell, how about just Yvonne vs Coté.
