I bought some of DC's unscripted matches years back and thought the action was Ok. Just bought their new matches filmed in Japan and was very disappointed as the matches looked very scripted and not competitive at all. Reached out to DC on twitter and asked about the change in style of unscripted matches and was given the run around, first was told nothing has changed and then when pointed out the difference from current matches and older matches was told things change in 15 years and that no one stays the same.
What do other fans think? Am I right to feel mad that new matches are not as good as the old ones?

and even they have rules an regulations. That's something to keep in mind watching our videos or any others.
'Real', in this sense, is subjective. The girls are earning their pins and submissions. Are they risking injury or consciousness to do it? Of course not. That would be insane and dangerous.
Their matches I have bought are boring and not convincing enough for me.
