Based on what I've seen other new companies do recently I'd recommend getting the fight done then promoting the fight to an initial release date. You'll make the money back after the fight is filmed and then develop a loyal following.

Not necessarily a con. One of the girls may have backed out and more than likely struggling to find someone else seriously willing.

If that was the case, any half decent promoter worth their salt would be keeping in regular contact with the market.
